Crossing Textures — Industry-Academia Woodcraft Program Exhibition
Exhibition Period|2022/01/15~01/27
“Texture” refers not only to the properties of materials, but also to the qualities and character of individuals. This exhibition explores how to bridge “materials, design, and technology” while delicately presenting each work. Through diverse approaches to materials, every creator reveals their own distinctive personal traits. As times continue to change, many aspects of life evolve alongside them, and furniture is no longer limited to traditional woodworking techniques. Today, furniture often combines multiple materials and incorporates computer-aided design and manufacturing, allowing for greater diversity and forward-thinking possibilities. The integration of different materials breaks away from conventional perceptions of furniture, much like the composition of the students in this specialized program—bringing together individuals from various professional backgrounds. Through collaboration and peer exchange, they create even more possibilities through the blending of ideas and expertise.
