Beyond Black and White — Huang Shu-ching 2025 Solo Exhibition

Exhibition Period|2025/04/01~04/13
Huang Shu-ching serves as a lecturer in Art Appreciation at Taipei Tech’s Center for General Education. The theme of this exhibition, "Beyond Black and White," reflects the philosophy that art encompasses far more than just painting; ink wash consists of many colors beyond mere black and white; and the practice of painting itself opens doors to life’s deeper lessons. The showcased works capture a rich tapestry of experiences: The Langjiao Eagle Festival and Spring at the Estuary bear witness to Taiwan’s ecological wonders, while the Five-Year Festival and Dancing Together series showcase the exchange and fusion of Indigenous and Han cultures. Towering Crags and Rolling Waves narrate vivid coastal memories where eagles soar and fish leap. In addition to recording Taiwan’s unique scenic beauty—such as the rustic, weathered charm of Tainan and various historic streets—the artist also tenderly illustrates her collection of exotic cultural artifacts. Furthermore, Kinmen’s traditional dwellings and battlefield history leave a poignant imprint of familial love. Intended primarily as a vehicle for educational transmission and shared experiences, this exhibition hopes to offer a true artistic feast for the faculty and students of Taipei Tech.
