Cultural Heritage Week

Exhibition Period|2022/06/06~06/11

In recent years, awareness of cultural heritage preservation in Taiwanese society has continued to grow. To further explore this topic, Cultural Heritage Week organized four lectures featuring experts from various fields to discuss the preservation, transformation, adaptation, and current state of cultural heritage. The invited speakers included Chang Kun-Chen, Chairman of the Taiwan Cultural Heritage Society; Hsu Tsao-Hua, Vice President of Taiwan Power Company; Ho Yen-Chuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Painting and Calligraphy at the National Palace Museum; former Vice President of the Control Yuan Sun Ta-Chuan; and Lin Wei-Cheng, Director of the Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines.

Through these lectures, audiences were guided to understand topics such as the restoration and preservation movement surrounding the former Tamsui Administrative Hall city gates, the role of design in shaping communication between public institutions and society through Taiwan Power Company, the visual and emotional resonance found within Huaisu’s Autobiographical Essay, and the contemporary adaptation of traditional Indigenous cultures through preservation and promotion efforts. Together, these discussions offered deeper insight into the significance and challenges of cultural heritage preservation.
