Exhibition Period|2022/09/20~10/02
The 2022 11th Asian Young Architects Award — Taiwan Selection Competition was jointly organized by faculty and students of the Department of Architecture at NTUT. This year’s theme emphasized that the world is finally beginning to recover from the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Under current global circumstances, however, an important question emerges: what should architecture look like “after COVID”?
As the pandemic reshaped the ways architecture is designed and experienced, new possibilities for architectural proposals and spatial concepts have also emerged. This year’s competition focused on concepts such as permanence and change, centralization and decentralization, openness and closure, exploring how these opposing forces may become key factors shaping future architectural trends. Whether for housing, schools, offices, museums, or other building types, students were encouraged to apply their knowledge and creativity to propose innovative architectural visions centered around the theme of “Post-COVID Architecture.”
