By exploring painter Su I-chung’s artistic roots, intellectual development, inheritance, transformation, spiritual landscapes, and liberation of lines, this exhibition analyzes the artist's self-construction and stylistic evolution. To provide the public with a deeper understanding of Su’s artistic aesthetics, the exhibition is framed around five core dimensions: From Inheritance to Innovation, The Fusion of Eastern and Western Aesthetics, Spiritual Realms and Creation, A Juxtaposition with Western Abstract Expressionism, and Stylistic Characteristics. These themes illustrate that the artist's development is a process of multifaceted integration—combining the knowledge passed down by his mentors, the enlightenment of both Eastern and Western aesthetic philosophies, and the distillation of his own life experiences. Intertwined, these three pillars forge his unique artistic worldview. Drawing cultural nourishment from diverse sources, he transforms these influences with a liberated spirit. His creations gradually break free from external imagery and refuse to be bound by rigid forms, leading to the definitive establishment of his personal style. This self-awareness and relentless pursuit of an individual aesthetic provide a solid foundation for his ongoing creative journey. His art is not merely a response to tradition, but a profound inquiry into and practice of the very essence of "beauty."
