The Keishou-ha (Imagery School) Art Association was founded in Japan 71 years ago, and its Taiwan Branch has built a rich 29-year history since its establishment in 1996. Every year, the association visits Taiwan to hold joint workshops with Taiwanese members, dedicating themselves to promoting art education and elevating aesthetic appreciation. The creative philosophy of Keishou-ha is rooted in drawing, sketching, and sensibility training. Drawing follows three major principles: The Big Picture, Rhythm, and Courage. These principles breathe life into form and imagery, making them leap vibrantly off the canvas. The exhibited works use sketching as a form of spiritual discipline and Carton painting as a tool for contemplation, allowing artists to paint from the "heart" within the boundless freedom of the canvas. Boasting diverse expressive techniques, each piece possesses a unique style and character—telling its own story and conveying deep, inner emotions through a passionate display of brilliant artistry. This joint exhibition between Taiwan and Japan aims to foster international cultural exchange. Meticulously crafted and ingeniously conceived, the works span a rich variety of everyday subjects, including natural landscapes, portraits, and still lifes. The mediums are equally diverse, featuring masterfully applied oils, encaustic (wax paint), and mixed media, characterized by detailed brushwork and bold, vibrant palettes. Having undergone years of rigorous training in sketching, Carton painting, and emotional perception, the members use spontaneous creation and sketching to continuously refine their craft. In recent years, the association has also committed itself to planting the seeds of aesthetic education in the community. We invite the public to explore the enchanting world of the Keishou-ha school, and we hope this exhibition sparks a deeper interest and understanding of this artistic realm.
