The 50th Anniversary Commemorative and International Invitational Exhibition of the Seal Engraving Society of the Republic of China

Exhibition Period|2025/11/21~12/11

Since its founding in 1975, the Seal Engraving Society of the Republic of China has reached its milestone 50th anniversary. Originally initiated by a group of master seal engravers who settled in Taiwan, the society has carried forward the mission of preserving the lineage of Chinese epigraphy (Jinshi). For half a century, whether in public education, talent cultivation, academic research, or international exchange, the society has consistently played an indispensable and active role. This international invitational exhibition features renowned global organizations—including Japan’s Sōbun Tenkai, the Tochigi Prefecture Calligraphy League of Japan, the Silicon Valley Seal Engraving Society of North America, and the Hong Kong Xiangjiang Seal Society. Alongside these esteemed groups, celebrated domestic calligraphers and seal engravers, as well as our own dedicated members, have contributed over two hundred brilliant pieces, making this a landmark event for seal engraving art in Taiwan! Since its inception, the society has viewed seal engraving education as its core mission. Partnering with university extension centers, community colleges, and cultural foundations, it offers courses that not only train professional seal engravers but also attract passionate participation from the general public, integrating traditional art into lifelong learning. Seal engraving competitions are also a cornerstone of the society's outreach. Notably, the establishment of the "Hua-Zhuan Cup," founded in honor of pioneering masters, has evolved into Taiwan’s most representative seal engraving competition. Its influence has transcended the seal engraving community, becoming a celebrated symbol of fair artistic competition within the wider cultural sphere.
