Discover the quiet glow of art within the rhythm of campus life.
In the fast-paced flow of campus life, art never shouts; instead, it exists quietly in the moments we often overlook. Curated and presented by the NTUT Arts & Cultural Center with pieces provided by the Office of Library and Information Services, this exhibition showcases the gentle brilliance of art refined by time. From the intentional "white space" of ink wash paintings and the play of light in photography to the delicate textures of sculpture, each piece reflects the creator’s observation of life and the cultural memories of different eras.
Photography & Ecology: Connecting Alumni to Their Alma Mater
Upon entering the exhibition, visitors are greeted by the main visual poster. Its clean, steady design, paired with the title "Art in Residence," symbolizes how art resides silently within daily campus life. The first section features photography centered on campus scenes and fragments of daily life, offering a layered emotional perspective on familiar landscapes.
Another highlight is the section featuring ink paintings and sculptures of flora and fauna. These works—depicting tigers, magpies, flowers, and aquatic life—capture the vibrant essence of nature. Many of these pieces were donated by alumni from the Provincial Taipei Institute of Technology era, serving as a bridge of emotion and memory that spans generations.
Slow Down and Find the Beauty in the Corners
This exhibition brings art out of the archives and into the daily life of the university, allowing viewers to rediscover art within a familiar environment. At NTUT, where technology and innovation lead the way, art provides a sanctuary of stillness amidst the bustle of research and study.
When we slow down and look closer, the memories and emotions carried by ink, light, and form begin to surface. Art is no longer just preserved history; it becomes a readable, perceptible moment of the everyday. These beauties, hidden in the corners of the campus, are now waiting to be seen.
